Should I make a reservation?
To make sure there is room, it is best to book. You select your time slot for entry. Buy your ticket online.
Are you coming with a group or with school? Then booking is necessary, fill in the appropriate form.
What are the prices?
For adults it is 17.50 euros, for children 12.50 euros.

Can you go here with the museum pass?
Yes, you can. It's best to reserve your place.
Do you work with a Riebedebie pass?
Yes, you can enter for free with the Riebedebiepas. It is best to reserve your place in advance.
Do you work with a UITpas?
Yes, thanks to the UITpas you can visit the museum at a discounted rate. Between 12 and 65, it's €3.50, and between 3 and 12, you can come and visit the museum for €2.50. It is best to book your place in advance.
I am entitled to a reduction. How will it be granted?
Do you have a subscription from one of our partners or enjoy a discount? Bring your proof on the day of your visit. (teacher's card, free pass, season ticket, ...).
When you order your ticket online, select the appropriate discount.
Not sure which discount rate applies? Then buy your ticket at the reception desk.
How do I use my gift voucher for a ticket?
How great that you received a gift voucher for the Speelgoedmuseum Mechelen! You should have received a PDF with a QR code; bring it on your phone or printed and have the QR code scanned at the reception. Don’t forget that the gift voucher is valid for 1 year, so make sure to check the expiration date.
Can I use my annual pass immediately after purchasing it online?
Yes, you can start using your subscription right away! After your purchase, you’ll receive a confirmation via email. During your first visit to the Toy Museum Mechelen, you’ll receive your physical subscription card. From that moment, your subscription is valid for 1 year, allowing you to enter once a day. Discover all the benefits at speelgoedmuseum.be/annualpass. You can also purchase a subscription at the reception desk.
I did not receive a confirmation email with tickets. What now?
You may have to wait a while for the mail to arrive. If you have not received a confirmation email with tickets after an hour, please email communicatie@speelgoedmuseum.be and we will help you out.

What are the opening hours?
We are open Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.
From what age is the museum interesting?
There is something to do for every age! The little ones won't get to experience everything yet, as most activities are for primary school children, but students, adults, parents and grandparents are also catered for.
Is the museum buggy and wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the museum is accessible for buggies and wheelchairs. You can read more about accessibility here.
Can I put something away?
Yes, there are lockers in the entrance hall next to the toilets. Read more about our facilities.
Going out with a group or school? Our staff provide large storage boxes for your group.
Why isn’t the entire collection on display?
We strive to create an engaging and accessible experience for our visitors. The objects displayed in our permanent exhibition have been carefully selected to support the museum's narrative. Starting in 2025, temporary exhibitions will also be organized to showcase other parts of our collection.
Are animals allowed?
No, you can bring your stuffed animal though. Read more about our house rules.
Where can I park?
Parking Station Mechelen is adjacent to the museum. Read more about 'how to get here'.
When is it quiet in the museum?
During the winter months, there are often school visits in the mornings on weekdays. From 2 PM onwards, the museum is usually quieter. This is an ideal time to enjoy our exhibitions at a relaxed pace.
How long does a visit take?

Can I get something to eat or drink?
Yes, you can in the museum café. Read more.
What languages is the museum in?
The entire museum can be visited in Dutch, French and English.
Can I donate my toys?
All information on donations can be found at the collection.
Where can I learn more about the displayed items?
At each display case, you'll find an interactive horizontal information screen that can be activated with your RFID wristband. These screens provide detailed information about the objects: discover their history, meaning, unique stories, and dates. Take your time to read and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of toys!
