The Oldest Flemish Game of the Goose

What?

A timeless game with a rich history

From April to June 2025, the Speelgoedmuseum Mechelen will showcase a unique piece of gaming history: the oldest Flemish Game of the Goose, engraved in the 17th century by Johannes Christofel Jegher. This rare piece, on loan from the Heritage Library Hendrik Conscience, will be on display for only three months in museum hall 2, ‘Speel-tijd’. Alongside it, you can see an 18th-century Ghent variant inspired by the original. Come take a look and spot the differences yourself!
