On March 9th 1959 Barbie was introduced at the New York Toy Fair. We’re rolling out the pink carpet and celebrating her 60th birthday in style!
Take a stroll on the catwalk along 60 years of fashion history featuring iconic Barbies of the Toy Museum and private collectors.
Barbie reflects the spirit of the age perfectly, from the very first example in a striped bathing suit to the present days’ hip Fashionistas. Discover the impact of the world of fashion on the famous doll through outfits of the Hasselt Fashion Museum.
Barbie also inspires a large number of people who sew, crochet or knit outfits themselves. The design studio displays the dazzling miniature creations of some passionate designers.
Discover your inner fashionista in this playful exhibition! Name some well known looks, design a cover for your own fashion magazine, draw a futuristic outfit, create a mood board for your own collection.
